Is Disney Working On A New Castle Of Illusion Game?
I actually think this could be easy, quick money for Disney Interactive. The no.1 thing people have wanted since the publisher got serious about games again was not movie tie-ins like that stupid Tron Evolution game, but rereleases of all their great character platformers from the 8 and 16-bit days. If Disney’s looking at sales from games like Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection, than I’m sure it’s really attractive to them to put out a Disney games collection. And man, if they are re-releasing these games, I’m buying. I’d LOVE to see a bunch of old Sega and Capcom Disney games on one disc, or even released seperately.
I suppose though that they could also have their “Big 3″ studios now – Junction Point, Avalanche and Wideload - producing DLGs. In which case, I could imagine all of those studios making fantastic 2.5D sidescrollers for XBLA and PSN and whatnot. Any one of them could easily make a new Castle of Illusion or Quackshot – something I kind of hope they’re actually doing :)
